Sermon and Planning are coming along.

Well, with only two full planning days away, I think I’m almost ready and prepared for my sermon and the worship meeting I’m also planning. The topic being focused (as I mentioned earlier in the week) is worship: what is it? And how to worship… This service will be focusing off of the most often misunderstood use of the word, worship, which most people perceive it as singing music, but every act you do for God, and so using Matt Redman’s idea, we will have an entire service without singing.
I think it’s going to be awesome and very unique, adding new ideas for future services and creating a welcoming atmosphere for everyone (something I think we need). I’m excited that the teens will be having a huge part in it as they lead almost every aspect. Although there have been some struggles, I haven’t any more doubt that the Lord will keep blessing us with this service, and I only pray that it actually goes as He desires, because it is and effort to bring everyone to Him… just with a new approach.

Many days and talks have been in place about this whole idea, and I feel it’s going to start something new within the corps, our church… someone actually stepping up and changing the way we worship, a “revolutionary” in a way. I feel that I can start, with the help and support of many others, and God, that we can get on our feet and get going, because it’s all about how each one of us worships, not how I worship, but that we’re all individuals and we need to understand we each have our own ideas and ways of doing things, but have to do it for God! A church that can understand and meet the needs of any age group is an example of what the church should be, it’s not a structure, it’s a family, the people themselves, and it shouldn’t meet to only one specific need! With everyone’s attention, and great leadership, it can go far, it will bring every soul to Christ the way it should be, because it wouldn’t bore out certain groups and lose that chance of hanging on to those people; their souls.

So I pray and have no doubt that this Sunday could be the day that things might change, that the Lord will bless us with a new outlook on what worship is, let us open up our minds and hearts to let Him come in and speak to us… this could be it!!
