So I found this band The Script, and really into their music and lyrics, plus they’re from Ireland and appeared on The Today Show St. Paddy’s Day.  If anyone’s looking for a new band I would definitely check them out, and recommend them.

Also, tomorrow is a pretty big day for us film majors on Southeastern, it’s the 180 Film Festival and we’re screening some pretty good student films (from what I hear), so looking forward to that tomorrow, which I’ll be runnig… as well as working the morning on-call and break down, editing two videos, meeting with my AD for Sundays film, had a RAW-TV show this past Wednesday, Dr. Rutland’s last chapel, and coming up this week is more work, a couple exams, three book critiques, 12 pages of reflection papers, editing a film, and working all weekend for the Florida Divisional Youth Councils in Orlando… so a pretty busy end of the month so far.  However, April is starting to gear up with 6 RAW-TV episodes, a film I want to get off the ground here and shoot, and possibly a second one also, getting ready for summer classes, living, a job, internship, and projects such as a feature, and two shorts of my own, and visiting people with some vacation time.

Well, that’s a lot, but even though it’s jam packed, exhausted days here, I’m really enjoying all the things I’ve been doing and getting ready for the many many more projects ahead… oh, and by the way, try not to get in touch one day before to make plans to go out of town for the weekend… doesn’t work out too well right now, jump on the waiting list for that… but, a movie, or starbucks, or some dinner wouldn’t be bad (locally)… then again, that also depends.

Well, I better get some rest so I can get these videos out tomorrow, start production on a short, work on pre-prod for two shorts, development for two more, some photography, and whatever else comes in between!!

Well, another week has gone by, and pretty busy, as well as the up and coming one.  But, no fear since Spring Break is almost here, however it’s short because of The Forum, and possibly a film shoot, or two.

But, I’m working on a couple new scripts for some projects, and also one for my film I want to shoot soon, possibly my next script due in Screenwriting class.  Other than that I enjoyed RAW-TV this past week, work, all-night prayer, and everything else in between that hogged my time.  And looking forward to the future projects before and after Spring Break: new script and film, promo video, PSAs for local network, and music video.  Plus, Youth Councils weekend shoot, Sunscreen Festival, and whatever else that takes up my time (involving comm projects obviously).

Also, still working out my summer plans, pray that God leads me and I listen, so far LA looks gone, as well as Alaska, and might end up staying here taking summer courses, interning in Orlando and a feature film (or two) and work (need money).

So it’s Preview Days at our school here and I had a couple friends in a theater play at our school that’s playing this weekend.  Had a couple friends  wanting to go, and I was invited, so I checked it out.  Turns out I’m so glad that I went, a real great time to end off a nice long day of work… not that I don’t enjoy work, just 8-5 is a long day.  So, now, I’m tired then, especially after an extremely busy week, and last couple in fact.

On the other hand I had a friend recommend a film Shower.  A Japanese film that I found to be an amazing story!  Loved it just as much as Amelie.  I really enjoy those films.  Another I’m currently starting for the night is Changeling, a Clint Eastwood film, which has another intense story about many different events.  This is the reason I love filmmaking, because of the art and creativity behind each one, and I know just how time consuming and stressful it is.  But, now I need to get cooking on some more projects now that my schedule is full and settled.  Next week looks like this:

It’s final, the WGA and AMPTP have made an agreement and the WGA had ended their strike.  Writers will be back to work starting Monday morning and shows that had to end early will be coming back to finish their seasons… I look forward to all my shows that will be coming back (sorry reality shows)!!

I missed all the news!  I just found out about the probable end to the strike, and boy am I glad about that!! It seems the strike would have been a success and I’m glad for it, even though not all agreements were met, at least some major ones were.

Unfortunately it looks as if there might be a chance for the SAG going on strike also in the next coming months, but with the majority not making a “good” income, it might not be likely.  Hopefully the best decision is reached, sometimes it means making a few sacrifices, but not losing it all.

In my opinion, the film was great… had an interesting storyline.  The problem was the fact that you walk out literally dizzy… a straight 74 minutes of rollercoaster action (not saying it made it bad)!! There was even a warning before going in the theater that you see on rides stating “May cause motion sickness.” If you can handle the motion sickness and pay attention to all the other effects, it was great! 

A lot of visual effects that were nice, definately a lot of camera work,  and an interesting story line… and I really enjoyed the effect that you actually felt like you were actually watching a home-made movie, there was no more than one camera throughout the whole movie.  Another thing that stuck out was the sound, it was good quality, you think that because it was shot from a handheld (some 35mm) that it would have same quality sound, but they showed me wrong.

Now the negative about it was I really disliked (not hate) the ending, I won’t spoil it, because I want you to find out and come up with your own opinion about it.  The other problem I saw was that it was like every other monster movie out there, like the critics all said, but added its own personal twist to it.

Overall, a great movie… should definately add it to your movie collection. 

Now if my rating counted, I would give it a 4 out of 5 stars!

Film is a large part of my life and I can admit that I go to the movies at any free time I have (obviously if it’s at least 2 hours).  Just recently I viewed Juno.  I have to say, it was a great pic!  I highly recommend anyone seeing it.  I hope it gets some great awards, because the cast and crew did a fabulous job (especially Ellen Page)!!  With it being award season, and the Oscars coming up, I also want to point out another great film that definately stands out as true art: Sweeney Todd.  This pic has the greatest work of art (in my opinion), probably now my all-time favorite movie, with casting and the crew all doing the best job.  It’s too bad Tim Burton isn’t up for an Oscar, but Johnny Depp and a couple other awards are up, and I hope it wins more than one.  With so many other great movies out, it’s a tough decision to make with winners. 

Award season is great because it recognizes the people who created art, and not a business… which Hollywood has become.  I hope all the right artists are awarded for their great talents!

I love art, and one subject being movies, I hope everyone notices the true art of movie-making and can appreciate it as much as a painting, musical, song, or dance… art is an amazing gift we have and I love expressing it and sharing and viewing others.  It truly is amazing!!
